El presente estudio comparativo pretende analizar la dialéctica bien- mal en dos novelas representativas que son Cien años de soledad del colombiano Gabriel García Márquez, y Las veladas de las mil noches del egipcio Naguib Mahfuz. Portadores de Premio Nobel de Literatura, los escritores edifican ¨otra¨ realidad, según los procedimientos narrativos del Realismo Mágico, donde se presencia la continua construcción y destrucción de los personajes que adquieren vida propia. Estas novelas están fundadas al margen del espacio y del tiempo. Ambos escritores dejaron una huella imborrable tanto en la literatura hispanoamericana como en la árabe, ya que pudieron diseñar un mundo novelesco que se convirtió en el espejo de lo imaginario colectivo y del desgarramiento metafísico

This comparative study analyzes the dialectic Good - Evil as displayed in two of the greatest novels of World literature: One Hundred Years of Solitude and Arabian Nights and Days, with emphasis on the main crucial characters that swing between the two ends and fall into a haunted reality of their own, following the narrative techniques of Magic Realism. The two Nobel Prize winners, Gabriel García Márquez and Naguib Mahfuz, had portrayed the eternal human conflict between Good and Evil, blended wonderfully in plots of an exceptional narrative cohesion, which reflects a final metaphysical approach. Therefore, their two novels are constructed on the margin of time and place. On the other hand, this comparative study has an ultimate goal which is bringing together Latin American and Arabic Literatures, in order to establish a global understanding and appreciation, as Goethe seemed to predict, of Literature as a whole
