    El presente trabajo analiza algunos aspectos de la representación literaria de la mujer en el cuento español en torno a 1900. En un primer momento, se interesa por la figura de la femme fatale, cuya presencia es recurrente en los textos de la época. Atractiva por su belleza y, al mismo tiempo, exponente de la depravación sexual, este arquetipo femenino se caracteriza por su voracidad y capacidad de dominio, configurándose como símbolo de la otredad con respecto al varón y la mentalidad patriarcal. La segunda parte del artículo estudia las formas de la sexualidad no codificada que aparecen ligadas a la femme fatale, con una especial atención al sadomasoquismo en tanto que figuración trasgresora del orden moral, social y religioso del Fin de Siglo

    The present article analyzes some aspects of the literary representations of the woman in the short stories around the beginning of the XXth century. First of all it focuses on the figure of the femme fatale, whose presence is recurrent in the works of this period. Attractive because of her beauty, voracity and capacity to dominate others, she is considered as the symbol of the other for the male and the patriarchal mentality. The second part of the article deals with the forms of the uncodified sexuality which are associated with the femme fatale, focusing particularly on the sadomasochism as a transgressor imagining of the social and religious morality of the end of the century
