    La presencia de europeos en las Islas Canarias fue una constante durante el Antiguo Régimen, incluso antes de producirse la anexión a la Corona castellana. La historiografía ha dedicado especial atención a este grupo, desde diversos puntos de vista: social, económico, religioso, etc. No obstante, apenas se han realizado trabajos de investigación centrados en la situación jurídica de estos individuos durante este período. Este trabajo pretende analizar la evolución de las normas jurídicas que afectaron fundamentalmente a los extranjeros entre los siglos XVI y XVIII.

    The Europeans� presence in the Canary Islands was a constant during the Ancient Regime, even before being produced the annexation to the Castilian Wreath. The historiography has dedicated special attention to this group, from many points of view: social, economic, religious, etc. However, hardly there have been done any research works about the juridical situation of these people during this period. This work tries to analyze the evolution of the juridical regulations that affected mainly the foreigners between the XVIth and XVIIIth centuries.
