Starting from the political situation in Spain following the Primo de Riveras dictatorship, the calling for council elections in April 1931 and the establishment of the Second Republic; and using his speech at the opening ceremony when he took office as first Badajozs Mayor during the Second Republic, it is fair to highlight and recover the figure and political background of Eladio López Alegría. Francos repression, execution (1936), later trial at the Tribunal of Political Responsibilities (1940), and repression at the Lawyers Association of Badajoz (1937)
