Abstract

The objective of this article is to investigate the differences in the report of hard-to-diagnose injuries between Spanish and immigrant workers. We use this kind of accidents because is more common to find hidden labour absenteeism episodes in them. So it could be obtained a measure of the relative effort exercised by the immigrant workers in comparison with the national ones. From a methodological point of view we perform a probit estimation to obtain the main conclusions. Starting from these results we decompose the observed difference in the incidence of this type of accidents in two parts, one part justified by the characteristics of each group, and other part which is due to the different yield of those characteristics.
