  Agrionemys ( = Testudo) hermanni (Gmelin, 1789) (Chelonia, Testudinidae) from the Middle Palaeolithic (ca -29.000 a -26.500 años) are described.

  Specimens appeared of the Gruta Nova da Columbeira (Bombarral, Estremadura, Portugal), where they were abundant. Its presence in this cave expands considerably the distribution of the species in the past, in contrast with nowadays absence in Portugal.

  Descreve-se Agrionemys (=Testudo) hermanni (Gmelin, 1789) (Chelonia, Testudinidae) do Paleolítico Medio (entre -29.000 e -26.500 años) da Gruta Nova da Columbeira (Bombarral, Provincia da Estremadura, Portugal), onde o seu registo foi muito abundante. Esta presença amplía consideravelmente a área de distribuçâo da especie, hoje desaparecida de Portugal, no passado.
