El hallazgo de la mano izquierda de la estatua romana conocida como la Dama de Iruña ha abierto una nueva vía de investigación sobre la fi gura representada. Su incorporación ha reducido el amplio y ambiguo panorama interpretativo que hacía difícil plantear cualquier proposición. Aunque el abanico de posibilidades continúe siendo extenso, una serie de análisis comparativos permiten concluir que la Dama de Iruña era probablemente una representación de Ceres, la diosa romana de la agricultura, y pudo ser realizada entre las épocas adrianea y antoniniana, posiblemente en esta última.

Zati horrek, edozein proposizio planteatzea zaila egiten zuen interpretazio-panorama zabal eta anbiguoa murriztu du. The discovery of the left hand of the Roman statue known as the Lady of Iruña has led to a new line of research on the fi gure displayed. Its incorporation has limited the extensive and ambiguous interpretive panorama that complicated the presentation of any proposal. Although the range of possibilities is still extensive, a series of comparative analyses have enabled us to conclude that the Lady of Iruña was probably a representation of Ceres, the Roman goddess of agriculture, and may have been produced between the Adrianean and Antoninian periods, possibly during the latter.
