El sistema climático cuenta ya con un nuevo subsistema, el socioeconómico, dado que éste influye en el clima a una escala global. En el Cuarto Informe IPCC (2007) el calentamiento global es considerado inequívoco, inusual y de origen antrópico, siendo sus posibles efectos inquietantes. Puede afirmarse que vivimos en una nueva realidad, en un mundo y en un país más cálidos que 30 años atrás. El calentamiento continuará durante décadas, por lo que el reto actual es su mitigación.
En el tercer apartado se presentan diez afirmaciones, que representan diez enfoques o visiones diferentes, sobre el cambio climático, mostrando la compleja interdisciplinariedad de su estudio.

The climate system has already a new subsystem, the socio-economic one, because of it interacts with climate at a global scale. According to the Fourth IPCC Report (2007) the global warming is inequivocal, inusual, and anthropic, and its possible effects are worrying. We can affirm that we are living in a new reality, in a world an in a country warmer than 30 years ago. The global warming will continue during decades, so the target is to mitigate it as much as possible.
Ten general statements, that correspond to ten different approaches about the climate change, are presented in the third section, showing the complex interdisciplinariety of its study.
