A partir de un Concierto angélico aparentemente realista como el conservado en el Museo de Bellas Artes de Bilbao, el autor plantea en este trabajo, tras un exhaustivo análisis de la pieza, la problemática de la fiabilidad de las fuentes empleadas por la iconografía musical, al mismo tiempo que propone una cautelosa actitud a la hora de enfrentarse a un documento visual de contenido musical.

Starting from an apparently realistic "Angelic Concert" as the one kept in the Arts Museum of Bilbao, the author —after an exhaustive analysis of the painting—suggests that the different sources used by the musical iconography should not be totally trusted. At the same time the author thinks that it is needed to be very careful when facing any visual document of musical content.
