Resumen de LAS POBLACIONES COSTERAS DE LA EDAD DEL HIERRO EN LA PENÍNSULA DE OMÁN

Carmen del Cerro Linares

  • The Archaeological research in Magan is relatively recent. Severals Archaeological Missions are working now in the Oman Peninsula, where the sites can be dated from 3th millenium B C. The most important settlements belong to Iron Age, when the population is not only nomad but also sedentary. The permannets settlements are in the interior oasies, on the mountains and close to the coast. The sites along the Persian Gulf and Indian Ocean coast are very usual. Most of them are only a shell mounds without associate structures, but severals villages have been excavating too
