Resumen de Aportación al análisis del poblamiento romano en el Campo de Montiel (Ciudad Real)

El presente estudio tiene por objetivo, abordar algunos de los caracteres que presenta el poblamiento romano del ámbito territorial del Campo de Montiel, en el sudeste de la provincia de Ciudad Real. Así pues, entre los distintos núcleos de población constatables, cabe mencionar en primer término Laminium, del que se posee testimonio de su condición de municipium. También es probable que llegase a alcanzar condición privilegiada Mentesa. Por otra parte y teniendo presente la estratégica situación geográfica de este área territorial, las fuentes antiguas itinerarias hacen mención a algunas mansiones como Mariana o Ad Turres. A partir de época bajo-imperial las villae van a alcanzar un gran auge, como se ejemplifica en la villa romana de Puente de la Olmilla, ubicada en el término municipal de Albaladejo.

The purpose of this study is to verge upon some of the characteristic that the Roman population, presents within the territorial area of the Campo de Montiel, in the south east part of the province of Ciudad Real. Thus, among the different town nuclei that can be observed, we can first of all mention Laminium, from which there is evidence of its municipium condition. It is also possible that Mentesa would reach a privileged condition. On the other hand and considering the strategic geographic situation of this territorial area, the ancient itinerary sources mention a number of mansions such as Mariana or Ad Turres. Following the low imperial era, the villae will reach a great boom, as is shown with the example of the Roman villa of Puente de la Olmilla, located in the municipality of Albaladejo.
