Madrid Eduardo Nicol realiza, en su obra Metafísica de la expresión , una revisión de los fundamentos de la metafísica en la filosofía occidental, concluyendo que ningún filósofo ha sido capaz de establecer claramente el contenido del objeto de la metafísica. En su análisis, hace referencia a Duns Escoto, que sería un pensador más que se habría esforzado por dar contenido filosófico al objeto de la metafísica. En este estudio se repasan los conceptos metafísicos más importantes de Duns Escoto para determinar si sus reflexiones metafísicas y sus conceptos son neutros y vacíos de contenido o si, por el contrario, tienen densidad ontoló- gica. Eduardo Nicol has reviewed critically, in his work Metafísica de la expresión , the foundations of metaphysics in western philosophy, reaching the conclusion that no philosopher had been able to establish clearly the content of the object of metaphysics. In his analysis he makes reference to Duns Scotus, which would be one more thinker who would have striven by giving philo- sophical contents to the object of the metaphysics. The most relevant metaphysics concepts of Duns Scotus are reminded in this work to determinate whether his metaphysical reflections and concepts are neutral and empty terms or if, by contrast, they have ontological density.
