    En los últimos años, el discurso ético ha entrado en la vida pública. Se espera de la ética que aporte las reformas y las innovaciones que la política necesita. La autora del artículo se pregunta por el papel que debe jugar la ética ante las deficiencias políticas. Para ello, acude a la filosofía de John Rawls y, en especial, a su último libro, El liberalismo político donde ocupa un lugar central el concepto de razonabilidad como base de la concepción política de la persona. Razonabilidad significa responsabilidad, un concepto poco presente en la filosofía moral y política y, sin embargo, fundamental para situar a la ética en su justo lugar, como impulso de la buena política.

    In the last years, ethical discourse has entered in public life. It is expected from ethics to bring about the reforms and the new ideas which politics is needing. The author of this article wonders about the role ethics has to play in front of the political shortcomings. Therefore, she goes to Rawls philosophy and specially to his last book, Political Liberalism, where a central place is given to the concept of reasonability as the basis of the political conception of the person. Reasonability means responsability, an usual concept both in political and moral theories, but nonetheless fundamental in order to put ethics in its right place, as the impulse of good politics.
