    A lo largo del presente artículo se constata el carácter insostenible de muchas de las pautas actuales del desarrollo que transcienden los ámbitos nacionales, ponen en peligro la calidad de vida y pueden suponer un importante límite al propio desarrollo en la hipótesis de que el coste de la “no acción” es superior al que entraña la adopción de los cambios. Igualmente, se ponen de manifiesto que la reducción y eliminación de sistemas de producción y consumo insostenibles, y que son en gran medida responsables de las amenazas a la supervivencia del actual modelo, se nos antoja imprescindible la progresiva utilización de costes reales que incorporen los costes de consumo de recursos naturales; el establecimiento de nuevos requisitos tanto en productos como en servicios que garanticen la calidad ambiental y permitan la capacidad de elección de los consumidores; la eficiencia en la producción, en términos de ahorro en energía, residuos y recursos naturales; y la información y la formación para nuevas formas de consumo. En definitiva, se ha estudiado las intersecciones existentes entre los Modelos Territoriales y los Modelos de Desarrollo, desde el ámbito del Medio Ambiente.

    Throughout the present paper it is clearly stated the unsustainable character of many of the present tendecies of development that transcend the national scope, put in danger the quality of life, and many mean an important limit to the very own development considering the hypothesis that the cost of the inaction is higher than the one that brings about the implementation of changes. Likewise, it is brought to the for that the reduction and suppression of unsustainable systems of production and consumption, which are to a greater extent responsible for the threats to the survival of the current model, seem to us essential, from a territorial perspective. Thus, it is seen as indispensable the progressive use of real costs that add the consumption costs of the natural resources; the establishment of new requisites both in goods and in services that guarantee the efficiency in production, in terms of savings in energy, waste and natural resources; and the information and training in new ways of consumption. Summarizing, the existing intersections between the Territorial Models and the Development Models have been studied from an environmental perspective.
