  Introducción. La reinserción de tejidos blandos al hueso puede en ocasiones resultar dificultosa. El desarrollo de los sistemas de anclaje Mitek la facilita ostensiblemente. El objetivo del presente trabajo es presentar nuevas aplicaciones de estos anclajes en Cirugía Maxilofacial, dos de las cuales no han sido recogidas aún en la literatura. Materialy métodos. Se han empleado los sistemas de anclaje Mitek para la fijación de la musculatura del suelo de la boca a la mandíbula tras abordaje tipo pull-through en resecciones oncológicas; para fijar el músculo temporal tras abordajes coronales para acceder a la pared externa de la órbita, y para fijar el canto mcdial. Resultados. La fijación de las partes blandas al hueso fue simple y rápida de realizar. Conclusiones. Los anclajes Mitek constituyen un sistema sencillo y eficaz para la fijación de la musculatura del suelo de la boca a la mandíbula tras pull-through; para fijar el músculo temporal a la cresta temporal superior tras el despegamiento del mismo; y para realizar la cantopexia medial

  Introduction. Soft tissue reattachment to the bone can be difficult. The development of theMitek anchorage systems facilitates it ostensibly. The aim of the present work is to show new applications of these anchorages in Maxillofacial Surgery, two of which have not been previously published Material and methods. Mitek anchorage systems have been employed for the reattachment of the muscles of thefloor of the mouth to the jaw after pull- through approach to oral cavity and oropharynxfor oncologic resections; to fix the temporal muscle after coronal approach to the lateral orbit; and to fx the medial canthal tendon after its traumatic avulsion. Results. The reattachment of the soft tissues to the bone was accomplished simply and rapidly. Conclusions. The Mitek anchorages constitute a simple and effective system for the fxation of the muscles of the floor of the mouth to the mandible after pull-through approach to oral cavity and oropharynx; to fix the temporal muscle to the superior temporal crest after its detachment; and to accomplish medial canthopexy.
