  En La Orotava del s. XIX se edificaron construcciones domésticas que renovaron su aire señorial, cual sucede con la casa que D. Fernando Llarena y Franchy mandó levantar frente a la parroquia matriz. A ella habría que añadir otras, como la que D. Luis Benítez de Lugo fabricó en la calle del Agua y que terminaría comprando el médico D. Tomás Zerolo y Herrera. El Archivo Histórico Provincial y el Archivo Municipal de La Orotava nos aportan datos que abren luz sobre ésas y otras construcciones o sus artífices

  In La Orotava, in the XIX century, private residences were built, renewing the noble appearance of this town. They included the home of D. Fernando Llarena y Franchy opposite the main church, and the house belonging to D. Luis Benítez de Lugo in the street called the Calle del Agua, which was later bought by the doctor D. Tomás Zerolo y Herrera. The Historical Archives of the province and the Municipal Archives of La Orotava have provided us with interesting information about these constructions and their builders
