Diagnóstico agrosocioeconómico de las fincas cafetaleras de la microcuenca del río Monaicito, estado Trujillo-Venezuela

    Se realizó un diagnóstico agrosocioeconómico de las fincas cafetaleras de la microcuenca del río Monaicito, estado Trujillo, que permitió describir y analizar las principales variables sociales y agroeconómicas que las caracterizan. Los resultados más destacados son: fincas principalmente propias, administradas por los propietarios; alto analfabetismo; viviendas con buenas condiciones de habitabilidad y servicios básicos; unidades de producción pequeñas (< 10 ha), de bajo rendimiento (< 6 qq/ha); variedades de café más utilizadas Caturra y Typica con prácticas inadecuadas de manejo y atacadas por el Hypothenemus hampei.

    La mayoría de los productores cuentan con la infraestructura y equipos básicos para el beneficio del café. Este estudio aporta información básica para definir y caracterizar los tipos de utilización de la tierra (TUT) actuales y potenciales del área; además permitirá planificar el manejo y conservación de la microcuenca al definir y caracterizar TUT acordes con las características agroecológicas del área.

    An agrosocioeconomic diagnosis in the coffee farms of the Monaicito River�s microbasin was carried out. This allowed describing and analyzing the main social and agroeconomic variables, which characterize them. The most outstanding results are: farms mainly administered by the proprietors, high illiteracy, housings in good habitability conditions and basic services, small production units (<10 ha), low crop yield (<6 qq/ha), Caturra and Typica are the most used varieties, with inadequate handing practices and attacked by the Hypothenemus hampei. Most of the producers have the infrastructure and basic teams for the benefit of the coffee. This research provides basic information to define and characterize the current and potential types of land use (TLU) in the area. It will also allow planning the management and conservation of the microbasin when defining and characterizing TLU relevant to the agroecologic characteristics of the area.
