La música litúrgica monódica en la Catedral de Santander (ss. XVI al XIX)

    El principal objetivo de este trabajo es conocer la implantación de la reforma tridentina en la ciudad de Santander, la evolución y las transformaciones de las melodías gregorianas a lo largo de tres siglos. Para ellos presentamos el catálogo y estudio de 32 libros de coro de los siglos XVI al XIX, que posee la catedral de Santander. Escribiremos brevemente la historia de los libros, explicaremos las características musicales, la función litúrgica de los cantos, y finalmente, presentaremos el catálogo de los cantorales.

    The main purpose of this inquiry is to gather information concerning the implementation of Tridentine Reforms in the city of Santander and the evolution and the transformation of Gregorian melodies throughout those three centuries. To this end, we proffer the catalogue and an analysis of the 32 choir books from the XVI to the XIX centuries which are to be found in Santander Cathedral. We shall make a brief reference to the history of those books, explaining their principal musical characteristics and the liturgical functions of the different chants, and finally, we shall present a catalogue of the said choir books.
