Resumen de La conversión de sustantivos en verbos
The tendency of using conversion in English is not new but it is becoming very common nowadays. The present study aims at this linguistic process known as conversion, functional shift or zero derivation and described by some linguists as Marchand as a kind of derivation and by others as Bergener as another process of word-formation at the same level as derivation or compounding.
Considering both perspectives, we try to offer a detailed analysis of conversion of nouns into verbs in examples taken from newspapers, literature and the spoken language, its importance and frequency, trying to discover the reason for this phenomenon.
