  Este texto plantea un estado de la cuestión sobre mujer y política en el mundo árabe. Su objetivo es señalar la disparidad de opiniones y los debates existentes en torno a este tema, incidiendo en el hecho de que existen confusiones manifiestas sobre "lo político" y "las mujeres" que posteriormente afectan el análisis de ambos factores en común. La "política", en el mundo árabe, se considera que presenta fricciones con "lo democrático", con "lo religioso" y con "la sociedad civil". Las "mujeres", por su parte, se piensan supeditadas a "lo patriarcal" y a "lo religioso". Estos hechos, cuando se analizan conjuntamente ambos parámetros, generan toda una serie de distorsiones implícitas que dificultan al investigador aproximarse a prácticas sociopolíticas "reales".

  This article discusses the question of women and politics in the Arab World. It aims to reveal the wide range of opinions and the various debates surrounding this subject, while stressing the fact that confusions over the concepts of "politics" and "women" affect the analysis of both factors when they are considered together. "Politics", in the Arab World, is regarded as being at odds with the concepts of "democracy", "religion" and "civil society". The concept of "women", on the other hand, is subordinated to those of "patriarchy" and "religion". When both parameters are considered together, these facts generate implicit distortions that make it difficult for the researcher to approach an understanding of "real" socio-political practices.
