• This article presents the different ways for the treatment of the used tire wastes. In the first part some examples of recycling procedures are exposed. In the second part the thermolysis as an alternative for the used tires energy recovery is presented. The thermolysis process consists basically on subjecting the material to a heating process in absence of oxygen (inert atmosphere), causing this way a break of the chemical connections and obtaining gaseous, liquid and solid phases . Some of the results obtained in an experimental pilot plant are exposed
