Este trabajo pretende descubrir la intención final del estadista romano Fabio Píctor a través del análisis de un texto sobre el origen de la Segunda Guerra Púnica transmitido por Polibio. Lo más significativo del texto es la imperceptible estructura simétrica y bimembre de la que se sirve el autor para expresar el mensaje de una dualidad irreconocible.

This article attempts to uncover the Roman statesman Fabius Pictor's intentions by analysing a text on the origins of the Second Punic War, which comes to us through Polybius. The most significant feature of the text is its imperceptible symmetrical and double structure which allows the author to express a message of irreconcilable duality.
