Resumen de Los pretendientes de Helena: juramentos, sacrificios y cofradías guerreras en el mundo griego antiguo

  El artículo estudia las relaciones entre el juramento de los pretendientes de Helena, el carácter panhelénico de la Guerra de Troya y la existencia de cofradías guerreras en el mundo griego, por medio de las similitudes existentes entre el ritual descrito por Pausanias (III, 20, 9) y antiguos rituales indoeuropeos (como el Ashvameda o el October Equus), y la existencia de supervivencias de la antigua ideología guerrera indoeuropea en el mundo griego. El artículo intenta también explicar las diferencias existentes entre las concepciones guerreras del mundo indoeuropeo y de la Grecia Clásica.

  This paper studies the relationship between the oath of Helen's suitors, the Trojan War as a panhellenic conflict and the existence of warrior brotherhoods in Ancient Greek World, through the similarities between the ritual described by Pausanias (III, 20, 9) and some ancient indoeuropean rituals (like Ashvameda and October Equus) and remains of the ancient indoeuropean warrior ideology that can be discemed in the Ancient Greek World. Eventually the paper tries to explain the differences between the indoeuropean warrior conception and the classical greek conception.
