El análisis de la obra inédita de Dámaso de Quezada y Chaves ofrece un interés especial no sólo por la naturaleza misma del texto, puesta de manifiesto por los historiadores, sino también por sus valores lingüísticos, por sus comentarios y sutiles observaciones. Prestando atención a los hábitos escriturarios de este autor realejero, es posible, además, descubrir y describir algunos usos lingüísticos peculiares del español canario del siglo XVIII.

The analysis of the unedited work of Dámaso de Quezada y Chaves owers its interest not only to the sequential nature of the text, deeply appreciated by historians, but also to its linguistic values, arising from some remarkable and subtle observations. By paying attention to the writing habits and linguistic features of this author from Los Realejos we detect and describe some particular aspects of the eighteenth-century Canarian tongue.
