  • Resumen
    • This paper explores the evolution of Artificial Intelligence (AI) in music and its potential applications in upper secondary music education. Through a comprehensive literature review, analysis of current AI music technologies such as Suno, Cubase, and Moises, and insights from a focus group comprising educators, AI experts, and media educators, we examine the opportunities and challenges of integrating AI into the music classroom. Contemporary examples, including the AI-cloned voice of Drake and the emergence of AI-generated music from legendary artists such as Queen, as well as local Austrian artists like Schattenparker aus Wien, The Banana Trees (tbt) and the fantasy-AI musician Aria Turing, highlight the current discourse surrounding AI in music. The findings suggest that AI not only offers innovative creative avenues but also presents significant pedagogical potential for music education. We conclude with recommendations for effectively incorporating AI technologies into upper secondary music curricula in Austria.
