Resumen de La città mutila e le necropoli sommerse: evoluzione geologico-ambientale dell’area di spina e l’erosione spondale del Po

Marco Stefani

  • The Etruscan town of Spina grew near the southern bank of a Po Delta channel, while its necropolis colonized previous beach and aeolian dune sands. The present-day remains of the town are cut by the erosive contact with the fluvial sand deposits, sedimented during Roman Empire times, a relationship suggesting that a large portion of the Etruscan town remains was removed by the lateral migration of the channel. The town orientation and original extension are hereafter estimated.
