Resumen de Un caso particular: la reconversión de edificios históricos en museos

Este artículo analiza la evolución de criterios de utilización de edificios históricos para museos a lo largo del tiempo, así como la visión del tema en el momento actual y realiza una reflexión sobre los problemas inherentes a este proceso (herencia histórica, ubicación en cascos antiguos, rigidez de estructuras, dificultad para encajar programas, cumplir normas legales e implantar instalaciones, etc.), los objetivos a conseguir, los tipos de actuación que se pueden seguir y las intervenciones más habituales. Teniendo todo ello en cuenta, se realiza también una reflexión sobre las ventajas de la reconversión frente a la construcción de edificios de nueva planta para museos.

This article analyzes the evolution of criteria on utilization of historical buildings for museums throughout the time, as well as the vision of the topic in the current moment. It realizes a reflection on the inherent problems in this process (historical inheritance, location in ancient cities, inflexibility of structures, difficulty to fit programs and legal procedure and to implement facilities…). It also studies the purposes that it is necessary to prosecute, the types of processes we can follow and the most habitual interventions. Having all in account, a reflection is realized also on the advantages of restructuring opposite to construction of new buildings for museums.
