    Se registra, por vez primera, la presencia de la especie invasora de origen neártico Monoxia obesula (Co leoptera, Chrysomelidae) en Marruecos y Portugal, ampliándose por tanto su distribución conocida. Se incluye información sobre la genitalia masculina y femenina, plantas hospedadoras y daño causado. El arbusto Atriplex halimus, una planta clave en ecosistemas semiáridos se ve especialmente afectado por esta especie.

    The invasive Nearctic species Monoxia obesula (Coleoptera, Chrysomelidae) is herein reported for the first time in Morocco and Portugal; thus, greatly enlarging its known distribution. Information on male and female genitalia, host plant species and damage are included in this update. The Mediterranean saltbush, a key plant in semi-arid ecosystems, is particularly negatively affected by this beetle.
