    El paisaje urbano, construido por diversos actores, expresa una determinada organización y estructura, que por su complejidad es dificil comprender. Sin embargo, los seres humanos establecen una red dinámica, ubicada en tiempo y espacio; viven, perciben y otorgan significado a la ciudad y representan vida en comunidad. Identifican la existencia de espacios diferenciados por sus cualidades formales y situacionales que dan pie al establecimiento de discontinuidades que definen la idea de borde, cuya función es separar dos o más entidades que convierten conceptualmente a cada espacio como lugar, el cual se asocia a su entidad inseparable: el borde. El concepto de lugar se identifica entre el aquí y el allá, entre lo conocido y lo ignoto, el cual posee determinada estructura, identidad y significado. Todo lugar tiene un borde asociado a tres conceptos que definen su carácter contradictorio: separación, implica pertenecer a una entidad y no a otra; articulación, intercambio entre entidades diferentes pero no antagónicas; confín, final de un lugar y comienzo de otro. La ciudad presenta bordes interiores entre sus áreas geográficas; tambien existen bordes cognoscitivos que representan una variación del gradiente sensible del sujeto que la perciben y valoran, con imágenes sumamente vívidas que es necesario conocer.

    The urban landscape, built by various actors, expresses a certain organization and structure, which due to its complexity is difficult to understand. However, human beings establish a dynamic network, located in time and space; they live, perceive and give meaning to the city and represent community life. They identify spaces differentiated by their formal and situational qualities that give rise to the establishment of discontinuities that defines the idea of edge, whose function is to separate two or more entities that conceptually become each space as a place, which is associated with its entity inseparable: the edge. The concept of place is identified between here and there, between the known and the unknown, which has a certain structure, identity and meaning. Every place has an edge associated with three concepts that define its contradictory character: separation, implies belonging to one entity and not another; articulation, exchange between different but not antagonistic entities; border, end of one place and beginning of another. The city presents interior edges between its geographical areas; There are also cognitive edges that represent a variation of the sensitive gradient of the subject who perceives and values it, with deeply vivid images that need to be known.
