    Resumen: Introducción: los aneurismas de los senos de Valsalva son dilataciones anómalas de la raíz aórtica entre el anillo valvular y la unión sinotubular de la aorta ascendente. Caso clínico: hombre de 54 años con disnea y síncope con alta sospecha de tromboembolismo pulmonar (TEP). Las pruebas radiológicas revelan presencia de aneurisma del seno de Valsalva. Conclusión: esta entidad es poco diagnosticada y puede confundirse con otras afecciones. De etiología multifactorial, el tratamiento de elección es la cirugía. Es importante conocer los signos radiográficos para obtener un diagnóstico temprano y planificar el tratamiento adecuado.

    Abstract: Introduction: Valsalva sinus aneurysms are abnormal dilatations of the aortic root between the valve annulus and the sinotubular junction of the ascending aorta. Clinical case: a 54-year-old man with dyspnea and syncope with a high suspicion of PE. Radiological tests reveal the presence of a Valsalva sinus aneurysm. Conclusion: this entity is rarely diagnosed and can be confused with other conditions. Due to its multifactorial etiology, the treatment of choice is surgery. It is important to know the radiographic signs to obtain an early diagnosis and plan the appropriate treatment.
