Resumen de Interregional Global Value Chains: The case of the Valencian Community

El objetivo de este trabajo es analizar las cadenas de valor regionales en la economía española con el identificar aquellas regiones que generan mayor valor añadido y lo exportan a otras áreas, convirtiéndose así en generadoras de crecimiento. A través de este enfoque, se pretende complementar y comparar los resultados obtenidos tradicionalmente mediante la metodología input-output (IO). En particular, se pondrá especial atención en el caso de la Comunitat Valenciana, evaluando su posición dentro de las cadenas de valor regionales y su capacidad de incorporar valor añadido en sus exportaciones.

The objective of this study is to analyze regional value chains in the Spanish economy in order to identify those regions that generate the highest GVA and export it to other areas, thereby becoming generators of economic growth. Through this approach, the results traditionally obtained using the input-output (IO) methodology have been complemented and compared. Special attention is also paid to the case of the Valencian Community, evaluating its position within regional value chains and its capacity to incorporate GVA into its gross exports. Therefore, the study provides an analysis of global value chains for all Spanish regions, also demonstrating that the methodology used is valid for this type of analysis
