Resumen de Catalogación y selección del patrimonio Paleontológico de Mallorca (Illes Balears, Mediterráneo occidental) en base a su utilidad didáctica: Rutas didácticas

La divulgación de un patrimonio tan vulnerable como el Paleontológico en una isla tan turística, poblada y urbanizada como Mallorca (Archipiélago Balear. Mediterráneo Occidental) ha de ir precedida de una planificación y selección del patrimonio apto para ser visitado. En este estudio se agrupan los yacimientos- LIPs o Lugares de interés Paleontológico de Mallorca considerados con potencial didáctico y divulgativo a partir de los trabajos de catalogación y valoración realizados (según susignificatividad y validez, accesibilidad, vulnerabilidad, adaptabilidad, etc.) en 64 entornos didácticos. Estos entornos se consideran fundamentales para entender y explicar la historia geológica de la isla. Los entornos seleccionados se organizan en 29 rutas imprescindibles para conocer la riqueza paleontológica y patrimonial de la isla. El patrimonio Paleontológico estudiado se muestra muy relacionado con otros entornos y patrimonios naturales y culturales relevantes. Ello lleva a plantear una gestión patrimonial individualizada pero también integrada con los demás elementos patrimoniales que enmarcan el contexto geológico y paleontológico seleccionado (gestión integral).

The divulging of a heritage as vulnerable as the Paleontological heritage in such a touristic, populated and urbanized island such as Majorca (Western Mediterranean) must be preceded by planning and selection of the heritage that can be visited. The Paleontological Sites of the island considered with great didactic and informative potential are grouped into 64 didactic environments. The didactic sites are selected according the cataloging and valuation of the Paleontological heritage of the island (significance, accessibility, vulnerability, adaptability, etc.). These are considered fundamental for understanding and explaining the geological history of the island. The LIPs best rated for their didactic interest and located in a relevant Natural and or Cultural environment are grouped into 29 essential routes to know the paleontological and important heritage of the island. The studied Paleontological heritage is very interrelated in a way with other relevant natural and cultural heritage. This fact leads to raise individualized management but also related to other cultural or Natural patrimony (integral management).
