    El Nuevo Puente de Espartxo, actualmente en las fases finales de su construcción, sustituirá al ya deteriorado Espartxo Zubia, el cual con tan solo 6.60 m de ancho y con baja cota media (6 m) podía generar problemas hidráulicos en caso de avenida. La construcción de este nuevo puente forma parte del conjunto de obras de urbanización del área LM.06 de Txomin-Enea, promovidas por el Ayuntamiento de San Sebastián, cuyo objetivo principal es dinamizar, modernizar y aportar nuevos usos a la zona. Se trata de una obra necesaria pues el puente existente no cumple las necesidades en cuanto a ancho útil para soportar la calzada, aceras y carril bici, y su geometría no es compatible con la nueva urbanización ni con el parque de ribera que seguirá la margen izquierda del río Urumea.

    The new Espartxo Bridge, currently under its final stages of construction, will substitute the deteriorated Espartxo Zubia, just 6.60 m wide and with low clearan-ce (6 m) which could cause hydraulic problems in case of flood. The construction of the bridge forms part of the LM.06 Txomin-Enea new urban development, promoted by San Sebastian City Council, whose objective is modernizing and providing new uses to this area. It is a necessary work because the existing bridge does not meet the needs in terms of useful width to support the roadway, sidewalks and bike path, and its geometry is not compatible with the new development nor the riverside park that will follow the left bank of the River Urumea.
