El hallazgo en 1997 de una placa idoliforme inédita en la superficie del Dolmen de Facho (Figueira da Foz) motivó este estudio. Dada la rareza de este tipo de artefacto en la necrópolis megalítica de la Serra da Boa Viagem, su análisis permitió ampliar el conocimiento sobre el monumento –un dolmen de cámara y corredor orientado NO-SE– y sistematizar estas piezas idiotécnicas del IV-III milenio a.C. en su contexto local y regional. El ar tículo incluye también una revisión historiográfica y documental del dolmen.

The discovery in 1997 of an unpublished idolshaped plaque on the surface of the Dolmen of Facho (Figueira da Foz) prompted this study. Given the rarity of such artifacts in the megalithic necropolis of Serra da Boa Viagem, its analysis expanded our understanding of the monument – a chamber-and-corridor dolmen oriented NW–SE – and enabled the systematization of these idiothetic objects from the 4th–3rd millennium BCE in their local and regional context. The ar ticle also includes a historiographic and documentary review of the dolmen.
