    En los procesos de la Inquisición que tuvieron lugar en la Corona castellano-leonesa entre fines del siglo XV y comienzos del siglo XVI la memoria ocupó un lugar importante. Era crucial para los inquisidores, pues gracias a la memoria de los testigos del fiscal podían armar los procesos; asimismo, resultaba una herramienta esencial para los acusados, que recurrían a la memoria para tratar de evitar las peores consecuencias de su enjuiciamiento. Finalmente, también resultaba clave para el Santo Oficio, que trató de crear una memoria que pusiera de relieve su importancia y la necesidad de su perduración, generando consenso en torno a esto. Este trabajo pretende realizar una primera y sucinta aproximación a esta cuestión, poniendo de relieve su carácter complejo y poliédrico, también las principales consecuencias que tuvo para los protagonistas de la actividad inquisitorial.

    In the trials of the Inquisition that took place in the Castilian-Leonese Crown between the late fifteenth and early sixteenth centuries, memory occupied an important place. It was crucial for the inquisitors, because thanks to the memory of the prosecutor’s witnesses they could set up the proceedings; it was also an essential tool for defendants, who used memory to try and avoid the worst consequences of their prosecution. Finally, it was also key for the Holy Office, which tried to create a memory that would highlight its importance and the need for its perduration, generating consensus around this. This article aims to make a first and succinct approach to this question, highlighting its complex and multifaceted nature, as well as the main consequences it had for the protagonists of the inquisitorial activity.
