  La digitalización de manuscritos históricos con tintas metaloácidas es un gran desafío debido a la degradación tanto de las tintas como del soporte de papel. Esta investigación propone el uso de la fotografía multibanda como una nueva metodología a implementar en los planes de digitalización. Estas técnicas de imagen han demostrado ser eficaces para documentar y recuperar textos desvanecidos, mejorando su legibilidad y revelando parte de los textos ocultos por tachones. Por tanto, el artículo propone la implementación sistemática de la imagen multibanda en los protocolos de digitalización, para asegurar la preservación tanto del objeto patrimonial, como del texto histórico, empleando como objeto de estudio documentos manuscritos del siglo XVI del Archivo Histórico Provincial de Santa Cruz de Tenerife.

  The digitization of historical manuscripts with metalloacidic inks is problematic, due to the degradation of the inks and the paper support. This research proposes the use of multiband photography as a new methodology to be implemented in digitization projects. These imaging techniques are effective for documenting and recovering faded texts, improving their legibility, as well as revealing part of texts hidden by erasures. Therefore, the article proposes the systematic implementation of multiband imaging in digitization protocols to ensure the preservation of both the heritage object and the historical text. The case of study are handwritten documents of the 16th century from the Provincial Historical Archive of Santa Cruz de Tenerife.
