Resumen de Espacios sin tiempo: los paraísos (in)concebibles de Charles Baudelaire

  El presente artículo se encarga de analizar la particularidad de las propuestas utópicas que se plantean a lo largo de la obra del poeta francés Charles Baudelaire (1821-1867). Considerando dichas propuestas como una respuesta furibunda al tiempo de la modernidad, el artículo se divide en tres apartados. En el primero de ellos, se propone un breve recorrido histórico-filosófico que aborda distintos usos del concepto de “tiempo” a lo largo de los siglos para, finalmente, examinar la concepción baudelaireana de la temporalidad. Como consecuencia de dicho estudio, en el segundo apartado se investiga la primera de las formas de “huida” que se teorizan en la obra del poeta, el espacio utópico de “los paraísos artificiales”. Dado el fracaso de las drogas como alternativa al carácter contingente y fugaz de la “vida moderna”, en el tercer y último apartado se considerarán las alusiones de Baudelaire a “los paraísos naturales”, que no son sino fruto de los dos tipos de “viajes poéticos” propuestos por el autor y cuyos símbolos son, por un lado, el perfume, y por otro, la infancia.

  This article analyzes the particularities of the utopian proposals that arise throughout the work of the French poet Charles Baudelaire. Considering these proposals as a furious response to the time of modernity, the article is divided into three sections. In the first of these ones, a brief historical-philosophical overview is proposed, dealing with different uses of the concept of “time” over the centuries, in order to finally examine Baudelaire’s conception of temporality. As a consequence of this study, the second section investigates the first of the forms of “escape” theorised in the poet’s work, the utopian space of “artificial paradises.”. Given the failure of drugs as an alternative to the contingent and fleeting nature of “modern life,”, the third and final section will consider Baudelaire’s allusions to “natural paradises,”, which are but the fruit of the two types of “poetic journeys” proposed by the author and whose symbols are, on the one hand, perfume and, on the other, childhood.
