    • This article examines subjectivity in the verbal communication of female booktubersin Young Adult book reviews through a case study of booktubers from Spain, theUnited Kingdom, and the United States of America. It explores the connectionbetween Booktube and participatory culture alongside Booktube communityitself. Methodologically, it uses in-depth elite interviews and multimodal discourseanalysis supported by social semiotics. Results indicate subjectivity in interviewsregarding community discovery, preferred aspects, book review selection andstructure. Discourse analysis reveals subjectivity through the first person, emotionalexpression, sharing reading experiences, character connections, and debating. Thisresearch demonstrates book reviewing is deeply personal.
