Resumen de Construção e validação: instrumento de avaliação - gestos e funções comunicativas – 8 aos 18 meses (IAGFC)

  In the scope of a more comprehensive study, the Assessment Instrument - Gestures andCommunicative Functions: 8 to 18 months (IAGFC) was constructed and validated, with thegoal to observe the gestures and communicative functions of children in the pre-linguisticperiod. The construction and internal validation of this instrument was carried out through threedistinct procedures, namely: the construct validity through a panel of experts, the internalvalidity analysis through the corrected correlation coefficient between the items and the total ofthe instrument and the analysis correlations between items. This study comprised 41participant’s children with typical development and children with hearing impairment. Theanalysis of internal validity through the corrected correlation coefficient between the items,indicating the correlation values of the item with the total of the instrument (r ITC), suggestedthe reduction to 4 items of the 9 initial items, noting that the related items the main construct ofthe IAGFC (communicative functions and communicative gesture) present values consideredbetween reasonable and good. Good correlation values are established between the number ofcommunicative functions and the number of gestures performed (r = .84) and between the useof the communicative gesture and the use of the manual gesture (r = .82). It is considered thatthe IAGFC can be a useful instrument in the research of communicative skills in the prelinguisticperiod, considering the lack of instruments for children of early ages validated for thePortuguese population.

  No âmbito de um estudo mais abrangente foi construído e validado o Instrumento de Avaliação- Gestos e Funções Comunicativas: 8 aos 18 meses (IAGFC) o objetivo observar os gestos e asfunções comunicativas de crianças no período pré-linguístico. A construção e validação internadeste instrumento foi realizada através de três procedimentos distintos, nomeadamente: avalidade do construto através de um painel de especialistas, a análise de validade interna atravésdo coeficiente de correlação corrigido entre os itens e o total do instrumento e a análise dascorrelações entre os itens. Constituiu-se uma amostra de 41 participantes de crianças comdesenvolvimento típico e crianças com surdez. A análise de validade interna através docoeficiente de correlação corrigido entre os itens, indicando os valores de correlação do itemcom o total do instrumento (r ITC), sugeriu a redução para 4 itens dos 9 itens iniciais,salientando-se que os itens referentes ao construto principal do IAGFC (funções comunicativase gesto comunicativo) apresentam valores considerados entre razoáveis e bons. Estabelecem-sevalores de correlação bons entre o número de funções comunicativas e o número de gestosrealizados (r = .84) e entre o uso do gesto comunicativo e o uso do gesto manual (r = .82).Considera-se que o IAGFC é um instrumento com utilidade no âmbito da investigação dascompetências comunicativas no período pré-linguístico, tendo em conta a lacuna deinstrumentos para as idades precoces validadas para a população portuguesa.
