Des del 1967, època del 4t Congrés de la Unió d’Escriptors Txecoslovacs, fins al 1990, en què és nomenat president de Txecoslo-vàquia amb la urgència de qui no té altra opció, Václav Havel fou sempre fidel als seus principis ètics i a la seva actuació política no utili-tarista, però sí útil per al seu país. Va passar moltes dificultats i penes, però se’n va sortir. Avui li hem de rendir un fort homenatge.
