    Tralo sitio e destrución do Castelo de Tenorio polos homes de Pedro Madruga, a antiga liñaxe dos Godoy ficou desartellada durante un século enteiro. Foi un dos seus descendentes, o Bacharel Pedro Solla de Godoy, quen reconfigurou o patrimonio familiar e propiciou o rexurdimento da súa estirpe. Esta investigación saca á luz novas fontes documentais sobre a súa persoa: é o caso dos testamentos que el e maila súa dona, María Basante de Rubiños, outorgaron en Pontevedra cun mes de diferencia, aló polo ano 1606. Do mesmo xeito, o achádego dunhas anotacións inéditas de Manuel Murguía permite afondar na heráldica da Casa da Laxe e, por extensión, nos demáis brasóns presentes na vila de Tenorio.

    After the military blockade and demolition of the Tenorio Castle by Pedro Madruga’s troops, the ancient Godoy clan was disjointed for an entire century.

    One of his descendants, the Bachelor Pedro Solla de Godoy, took charge of rebuilding the lost family heritage and promoting, through this, the resurgence of his clan. This article brings new documentary sources about the Bachelor to light, such as the testaments that he and his wife, María Basante de Rubiños, made in Pontevedra barely a month apart, in the spring of 1606. In the same way, the discovery of some unpublished annotations by the historian Manuel Murguía allows us to delve into the heraldry of the House of Laxe and, by extension, in the other coats of arms present in the town of Tenorio.
