Hernán Cortés en el siglo XXI. V Centenario de la llegada de Cortés a Méjico es el sexto volumen de nuestra colección Entre dos mundos: América y Europa desde Extremadura. En él se recogen todas las conferencias y ponencias que se desarrollaron en las ciudades de Medellín y Trujillo (Extremadura, España) durante los días 4, 5 y 6 de abril de 2019 en el congreso internacional del mismo nombre. En este libro se profundiza en el conocimiento historiográfico de la figura de Hernán Cortés en el contexto del siglo XVI, así como se da a conocer y se pretende divulgar la transcendencia histórica de la personalidad poliédrica de Cortés atendiendo a su origen, su juventud, su formación y sus tareas colonizadora, administradora y expedicionaria. También se estudian sus inquietudes como empresario y como luchador incansable por el reconocimiento de sus legítimos derechos. El objetivo es conocer, comprender, contextualizar y divulgar el valioso legado histórico, social, cultural y económico que dejó Hernán Cortés a la Modernidad.

Hernán Cortés in the 21st century. V Centenary of the arrival of Cortés in Mexico is the sixth volume of our collection Between two worlds: America and Europe from Extremadura. It includes all the conferences and presentations that took place in the cities of Medellín and Trujillo (Extremadura, Spain) during April 4, 5 and 6, 2019 at the international congress of the same name. In this book, the historiographical knowledge of the figure of Hernán Cortés in the context of the 16th century is deepened, as well as the historical significance of the polyhedral personality of Cortés, taking into account his origin, his youth, his formation and its colonizing, administrative and expeditionary tasks. His concerns as a businessman and as a tireless fighter for the recognition of his legitimate rights are also studied. The objective is to know, understand, contextualize and disseminate the valuable historical, social, cultural and economic legacy that Hernán Cortés left to Modernity.
