RESUMEN
Se realiza un estudio sobre los caracteres taxonómicos que se han venido utilizando para distinguir las diferentes especies de Bruchidius englobadas en el llamado grupo unicolor, presentes en la fauna de la Península Ibérica (España y Portugal), islas Baleares e islas Canarias. Se discute la heterogeneidad taxonómica y biológica de las especies integradas en este grupo, y se aportan algunos criterios para una caracterización acorde con dicha heterogeneidad. El análisis morfológico concluye con el escaso valor taxonómico de sus caracteres para diferenciar las especies, requiriendo la utilización de un conjunto de caracteres.
ABSTRACT
A study on the taxonomic characters that have been used to discriminate the different species of the genus Bruchidius included in the unicolor group, represented in the Iberian-Balearic and Canary Islands fauna, is carried out. The taxonomic and biological heterogeneity of the species included in this group is discussed and some criteria are provided for characterization according this heterogeneity. The morphological analysis concludes with the low taxonomic value of its characters to differentiate the species, requiring the use of a set of characters.
