    En mi vida se han dado de forma simultánea dos procesos de conformación de identidad. Por un lado el que tiene que ver con mi arraigo cultural y familiar a las Islas Canarias y, por el otro, el que apela a mi corporalidad y mi género. En ambos casos, la mirada y la palabra ajena han sido determinantes para definir qué soy y qué no soy. Y en ese devenir personal, condicionado por lo limítrofe, alcanzar eso que denominamos «pureza» siempre fue un anhelo. Sirviéndome de la investigación narrativa como metodología de estudio he podido analizar y vincular estos dos procesos que, al margen de ser su protagonista, probablemente son el reflejo de un pensamiento más estructural. Tanto en la dimensión de la identidad canaria como en la del género, este pensamiento se suele nutrir de estructuras epistémicas binarias. Y en medio de esos binarismos siempre hay disidencias que agrietan su hegemonía.

    In my life, two identity formation processes have occurred simultaneously. On the one hand, the one that has to do with my cultural and family roots in the Canary Islands and, on the other, the one that appeals to my corporeality and my gender. In both cases, the look and the words of others have been decisive in defining what I am and what I am not. And in that personal evolution, conditioned by the limit, reaching what we call "purity" was always a desire. Using narrative research as a study methodology, I have been able to analyze and link these two processes that, apart from being their protagonist, are probably the reflection of a more structural thought. Both in the dimension of Canarian identity and in that of gender, this thought is usually nourished by binary epistemic structures. And in the midst of those binarisms there are always dissidences that cracked their hegemony.
