    Resumen El autor centra su análisis en dos tesis subyacentes a los trabajos de Alejandro Guzmán acerca de la interpretación jurídica: 1ª Las reglas sobre interpretación de las leyes del Código Civil no pueden ser leídas a la luz de la obra de Savigny. 2ª El derecho romano puede, conforme a las reglas de interpretación, cumplir una función interpretativa en el derecho chileno.

    Abstract The author focuses his analysis on two theses underlying Alejandro Guzmán’s work on legal interpretation: 1st The rules on interpretation of the Civil Code laws cannot be read in the light of Savigny’s work. 2a Roman law can, according to the rules of interpretation, fulfill an interpretative function in Chilean law.
