La actividad del fútbol se ha transformado paulatinamente en un centro de interés de la historiografía, que ha buscado dilucidar su desconocida historia. A partir de las últimas dos décadas, la proliferación de investigaciones que ha tenido como eje de análisis el fútbol, ha nutrido de manera incipiente un corpus teórico sobre el tema. Bajo este contexto, se hace necesario desarrollar un balance historiográfico sobre los estudios del fútbol en Chile. El presente artículo tiene como objetivo revisar y analizar las investigaciones relativas a la historia del balompié en el contexto nacional. Se propone un análisis de las principales obras que han marcado la actividad como un tema historiográfico, abordando sus posturas metodológicas y teóricas. Finalmente se deja abierta una serie de interrogantes que sirvan para enriquecer la historiografía del fútbol en Chile.

The football activity has slowly transformed into a center of interest for the historiography field, which has looked to elucidate his unknown history. In the last two decades, the proliferation of research works that has football as a focus of the analysis had encouraged incipiently a theoretical corpus about the matter. Under this context, it’s needy to develop a historiographic balance about the investigations of football in Chile. This article has the purpose to review and analyze the research related to football history in the national context. It proposes an analysis of the principal works that had marked the activity as a historiographic theme approaching their methodological postures and theories. Finally, it lets open a series of interrogatives that will serve to enrich the historiography of football in Chile.
