Con este breve trabajo se pretende analizar un monumento muy importante en la historia de España, y especialmente del Reino Nazari de Granada, como es el caso del Corral del Carbón: el monumento más antiguo que nos dejaron los árabes y la alhóndiga mejor conservada de la Península. Para entender mejor sus características y funcionamiento, echaremos un vistazo general a otras alhóndigas hispanomusulmanas, más o menos contemporáneas, siempre que sea necesario, para después entrar a analizar este maravilloso edificio. Además, nuestra investigación aportará nuevos datos y conclusiones a los proyectos de investigación de nuestro director y su Grupo.

With this concise investigation we try to analyze an important monument in the History of Spain and especially Nazari kingdom. The Corral of Carbon is the oldest monument left us by Arabs and the single caravanserai preserved of the Iberian Peninsula. In order to understant their characteristics and performance, we take a general gander for other contemporary caravanseraies in Spain if it was required. Then, we are analyzing this wonderful building. Moreover, our research will contribute to the research projects of our director and his group.
