La Dirección General de Seguridad durante el Franquismo. Un instrumento clave para la represión política

    Tan pronto como quedó establecido el Estado franquista, sus dirigentes se apresuraron a reorganizar el aparato policial, adaptándolo a sus fundamentos ideológicos y configurándolo como un verdadero instrumento de control social y orden público. De esta manera, la Dirección General de Seguridad sufrió una importante reforma, realizándose modificaciones en su estructura, composición y régimen interno. La relevancia de esta institución es incuestionable, pues de ella dependían los servicios de vigilancia y seguridad, que, como es sabido, fueron el brazo ejecutor de la represión durante la dictadura. El presente trabajo persigue llevar a cabo un análisis de las transformaciones que se realizaron sobre este órgano de la Administración Central durante el primer franquismo. Para alcanzar este fin, ahondaremos en la normativa promulgada en este período, así como en las principales publicaciones científicas que abordaron el estudio de esta corporación.

    As soon as the Franquist state was established, its leaders immediately set about reorganising the police apparatus, adapting it to their ideological principles and configuring it as a true instrument of social control and public order. The General Directorate of Security underwent a major overhaul, with changes to its structure, composition and internal regime. The relevance of this institution is unquestionable, as it was responsible for the surveillance and security services, which, as is well known, were the main instrument of repression during the dictatorship. The aim of this paper is to analyse the transformations that took place in this body of the Central Administration during the early Franco regime. To this end, we will examine in depth the regulations enacted during this period, as well as the main scientific publications that dealt with the study of this Corporation.
