    Este trabajo analiza la identidad de los artesanos de la Real Cámara durante el siglo XVII a través del sentido de las apariencias. Las disposiciones regias propulsaron su distinción desde la jura del oficio, a lo que se añadía la búsqueda de diferenciación individual y familiar a partir de la indumentaria y los interiores domésticos. La identidad que adquirían como criados reales les empujaba a demostrar, desde el consumo material, su condición en la sociedad del Madrid cortesano.

    This paper is aimed at analyzing the identity of the artisans of the Spanish Royal Chamber during the seventeenth century. Not only did the king prompt their distinction through the swearing in of their position, but there was also a will of individual and familiar differentiation evinced in clothing and domestic ornamentation. The identity that they acquired as royal workers led them to demonstrate, through material consumption, their condition within the society of courtesan Madrid.
