  En 1905 en un concurso de ABC, Victoria Eugenia de Battenberg fue la más votada por las lectoras del diario, resultó ser una especie de concurso profético ya que ella efectivamente fue la candidata que casara con Alfonso XIII.

  Alfonso XII, con 19 años recién cumplidos, viaja a Francia e Inglaterra en junio y pensaba ir en otoño a desplazarse a Alemania. Viendo estos movimientos, la ciudadanía empezó a pensar que el rey buscaba novia y se barajaron candidatas. La pregunta que lanzó el periódico ABC a sus lectoras fue: "¿Quién será la futura reina de España?", en un concurso que alcanzó una enorme popularidad en agosto de 1905. Era la sexta edición del concurso y en esta ocasión el tema fue la realeza, la futura reina de España.

  Eugenia de Battenberg was the most voted by the readers of the newspaper, it turned out to be a kind of prophetic contest since she was effectively the candidate who married Alfonso XIII.

  Alfonso XII, who had just turned 19, traveled to France and England in June and planned to go to Germany in the fall. Seeing these movements, the citizens began to think that the king was looking for a bride and candidates were considered.
